Privacy Policy

How Discovery Academy collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

Last updated: October 4, 2026.

Discovery Academy ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website — when you book a free trial lesson, use your personal account or sign our agreement online — and how we use, share, and protect it.

Information we collect

  • Trial-lesson request. The child's name and age, school grade, the subject you are interested in, who is signing up (a parent or the student), a parent's or guardian's name, a phone number and an email address.
  • Lesson time. Your time zone and the lesson time you choose, if you choose one.
  • Personal account. When you book a trial lesson, we create a personal account for your email address. We store your password only in hashed form, so nobody — including us — can read it. Your account shows your lesson bookings.
  • Online agreement. When you sign our agreement on the website, we keep your name, phone number and email address, an image of your signature, the date and time of signing, your IP address and browser information (user agent), and a PDF copy of the signed agreement.
  • Cookies and usage data. See "Cookies, analytics and online chat" below.

How we use your information

  • To contact you about your trial-lesson request and confirm the lesson time;
  • To run your personal account, where you can view, reschedule or cancel a booking;
  • To send you service emails: your password and password resets, email address confirmation, booking confirmations and a copy of the signed agreement;
  • To arrange and provide our educational services;
  • To keep a record of the signed agreement;
  • To answer your questions and improve our services.

Cookies, analytics and online chat

The website uses cookies it needs to work — for example, to keep you signed in to your personal account and to protect forms.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the website (for example, which pages are viewed and how often the trial-lesson form is sent). Google Analytics sets its own cookies and collects data such as the pages you visit, your approximate location, and device and browser information. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

The online chat on the website is provided by tawk.to. If you write to us in the chat, your messages and the details you enter there are processed by tawk.to so that we can reply. The chat also uses its own cookies.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with our staff and trusted service providers who help us operate the school — for example, website hosting, email delivery, Google (analytics) and tawk.to (online chat) — and where required by law.

Children's privacy

Our sign-up form can be completed by a parent or guardian, or by a student aged 13 or older. Students under 13 can only be signed up by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Keeping and deleting your data

You can delete your personal account at any time in the account itself. When you do, the account is deleted and your trial-lesson requests are anonymized. You can also ask us to delete your account or other data, such as a signed agreement — contact us using the details below.

Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, at any time. Depending on your state (for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have additional rights.
